At Grounded Wellbeing, our geek therapists use fantasy and play to work through what brings their clients to counseling, often utilizing games, or discussing themes in their favorite cartoons and anime.     A Geek Therapy session is entirely unique to each and every person. To begin, you’ll discuss and go over your favorite media, such as tv/anime, movies, video games, tabletop games, etc. From there, you and the counselor will explore ways to bring that into the counseling space and draw connections between your interests and your life. This can be done in a variety of ways, such as playing a journaling RPG together, building out your perfect world in Minecraft or creating D&D characters that represent different aspects of you or watching media together. Think of it as doing what you love to do for fun with someone else who occasionally drops in connections that tie it into your life.
