We value compassion, vulnerability, and reclamation. Living out these values often requires intention, and by creating a brave environment, we can welcome our whole selves into this space. We believe that we must start from within to reclaim our individual and collective power to make change. Guided meditation is a powerful tool that one can use to start building intention and connection from within.

Guided Meditation

What is guided meditation?

At Grounded Wellbeing, guided meditation can take several forms. Many of our providers encourage guided exercises before, during or after sessions to ground and be more in our bodies. In a group setting, leaders encourage visual or breathing meditations to engage participants before a skills lesson, process group, or support space. Guided meditation may also be used during yoga therapy, reiki, or chakra balancing sessions to transition clients into the space and facilitate an environment where you can feel brave, supported, and affirmed.

What to expect during guided meditation

The type of guided meditation can vary, for example, progressive relaxation exercises involve bringing attention to different parts of the body, starting from the toes and moving upwards, encouraging each part to relax and release tension with each breath. Guided imagery, color, or visualization techniques are commonly used to engage the mind and stimulate the imagination. You may be guided to identify colors and align them with your breath, picturing a peaceful scene, such as a serene beach or a tranquil forest, or encouraged to explore details using all their senses.

Before ending the session, you gently transition back to the present moment, by slowly reawakening their senses and gradually return to your surroundings. We typically end sessions with gratitude, either to ourselves or to others.
