Sterling James, LAPC (he/him)
Clinical Therapist
TL;DR: You’ll find me to be authentic, supportive, and caring. Using a cultural and neuro-affirming approach, I strive to provide a space for all individuals to feel they are welcome to discuss their past experiences, what they are currently going through, and where they are currently going. Sessions are an interactive experience for their inner child to be nurtured and grow.
Availability: Monday - Thursday 9AM-8PM, Friday 10AM-5PM (virtual or in person at our Decatur office)
Hi there! I'm Sterling James, an LAPC currently living outside the perimeter of Atlanta. I'm passionate about helping adolescents and adults navigate all the challenges of life, both big and small. I've had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients from multiple cultures and different backgrounds, including the neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ communities. I believe in creating a safe and welcoming space where you can be your true authentic self, without judgment or criticism, no matter who or how you identify.
I understand that life can be tough. Growing-up as an African-American male in the South, I understand the world isn’t always the safest nor the fairest place for everyone. This is especially true when you are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, neurodiversity, or simply feeling overwhelmed with existing in a system that is not created equally for you. I'm here to assist with developing a new style of system that prioritizes the care for all individuals by listening and supporting your therapeutic journey. By providing space to feel welcome to challenge your inner thoughts, and process your past experiences, we can then develop positive coping strategies to further challenge our problematic thinking.
Together, we can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to develop coping strategies and tools that work for you. My approach is collaborative, meaning I'll work with you to set goals and tailor treatment to your unique needs. I'm committed to helping you achieve your goals, improving your overall well-being, and foster healthier relationships.
Let's work together to create a better space for yourself to grow! Click here to schedule your free 15-minute consultation with me.

When indoors, I like to spend time playing video games, watching sports, and listening to music. I listen to all types of music and try my best to remain active in the local music community.
I am a lifelong Steelers fan, avid WWE fan, and recently started my own retro gaming collection.
